BVE Library Volunteers
With the loss of the library aide due to budget cuts, parent help is more important than ever.
From BVE Librarian Cody Greene:
31,208 items circulated
384 holds placed and fulfilled
503 new books added
Those numbers give just a quick glance into a very busy Burton Valley Library. And it doesn’t stop there! We weeded outdated books, created displays, collaborated with teachers, pulled materials for specific units and more.
It’s no doubt the Bobcat nation loves its library and we want to make sure it continues to be the hub of reading, learning and activity. In order to do that, we need your help with whatever free time you can spare.
What does one do as a library volunteer?
- Check books in and out
- Reshelve returned materials to the correct spot
- Assist students in finding materials
- Cover new books
- Other special projects
No experience is necessary and we will give you all the “training” you might need. The only requirement is to help us make the library a vibrant place where we celebrate learning and books of all kinds.
How do I sign up? When can I come?
Use the link and directions below to find our sign up sheet. We obviously understand that you may want to come when your student is visiting the library, but we would also encourage you to consider signing up for other or additional times. You’ll get to know our collection of wonderful materials and meet students and teachers of varying grades, not to mention the super fun librarians!
