Safe Passages/Super Stars Literacy Curbside Book Drive at LOPC

Friday, October 30, 4:00 – 6:00 pm

Special time for Seedlings (during pick up), 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Would you like to help children develop a love of reading? LOPC in partnership with Safe

Passages is hosting a book drive to support the academic success and literacy of local Bay Area

students. Studies show that access to books, considered a luxury in households with a

stretched budget, is critical in developing the skills that form the foundation for future

learning. How can you help? Please drop off new and gently used books - especially bi-lingual

books will be welcome! The biggest need is for books for K-2nd grades, but donations for

students of all ages are appreciated.

If you would like to purchase new books, please consider ordering online though an

independent minority owned bookstore, such as Ashay by the Bay in Vallejo. Ashay by the Bay

also sells gift cards (increments of $25 are most useful) which can be used by Safe Passages/

SSL to purchase books needed by their Americorp volunteers.
